Splinters Continued from Pg. 2

A quick look back indicates we had 29 (!) Seniors Visits and 15 (!) social/eating/driving events – from St.
                                            th
Patrick’s Day Brunch on March 15 to the Econo Run & Fall Tour this past weekend. As well we participated
in numerous other non-EACC events. A busy season for sure. My thanks to the many, many, many individu-
als that put these on and that volunteered their help. Many helping hands are what make this club so success-
          ful.

Speaking of being successful, integral to the continued success of the club is filling all 12 executive positions.
We need YOU to consider stepping up. Please look at the positions and determine which you feel you may
either have the ability to do or are willing to learn new skills. Contact the current person holding that position
& find out what’s entailed. With little exception, each position requires minimum time each month. Some
don’t even need a computer! Please consider stepping up.

Here’s to a mild winter and getting caught up on projects set aside over the past car season. (And a Stanley
Cup for McDavid & the Oilers next spring. He is signing, isn’t he?).

          Happy Motoring, Bert

                                                                          th
ROAD TRIP – for a “garage sale” in New Sarepta, October 5

Back in July we visited Ed’s collection with a promise to check out a neighbor's shed as the elderly (91?)
gentleman was selling stuff he’s been hoarding. Unfortunately, the shed was out of bounds due to the wet
weather, and we were unable to see his antiques, tools, etc., plus stuff his dad accumulated from auction
         sales.
Now that it’s dry, the tour of the shed is on. Lots of antiques, tools, records and more plus stuff his dad accu-
         mulated from auction sales.
Muster the same time, same place as last time – 10:00 am at Landmark Cinema, 955 Tamarack Way (south of
                                 th
the Whitemud, east of 17 Street). We’ll convey the same back roads route to Ed’s & then on to the shed.
Bring your flashlight – no electricity in the shed.

entertainment for your listening & dancing enjoyment.
Food costs have necessitated a modest increase in ticket
prices - $50 each. Tickets will be on sale at October &
November meetings only as we need to let the cater
know the number of attendees prior to December’s
          meeting.
